In Mr. Carreon’s English Language Development class students participated in the “My Name. My Identify” Project. Each student was empowered to speak about their names, their culture, their heritage, their values, and their identities in a circle. Students expressed how their names were given to them, their journeys to America, their struggles with the school system, their transitions, and their appreciation of having Mr. Carreon as a teacher who’s teaching them to embrace their identities.
