my name is Veronica Lopez my name is Cindy Cisneros my name is Griselda Gonzalez and I am the principal of lead Valdez Leadership Academy we get a lot of background and to who we are a lot of us maybe we'll never get this chance again until we reach College which is a real shame I think cuz we're going to be learning a lot about ourselves in the process of our history and this just tell us an Insider into ourselves and it could help us in our feature from the people that I've been trying to do it because I know like in the past like I have kind of like downplayed who I am just because of like what social media or like people had to say but I won't take him to school I like interacting with more with the teachers and the students I can just hit me that comfort and I kind of like I don't like those wings around you that it's going to be okay regardless of who you are and what you do at the end when are the things that were very proud of here at least Valdez is Arnie sake of ease Valdez is that our has been named the father of Chicano theater Ivy Valdez was also nominated and presented an award by President Barack Obama a few years ago as something that the community was very proud of I'm he's provided a few Keynotes here at our school and again really it's what we're most proud of is providing that voice to Chicanos to he knows I'm in N writing a history writing our history and telling our stories so very proud to to have the namesake please Valdez during these times it has been quite difficult during the remote learning I you miss that the energy at the energy that that usually happens organically when you are on campus but previously when we were on campus I respect the students I respect their opinions and so is it real has been easy for me to create those relationship if we had more time on campus of course now it's that currently a difficult situation but we definitely I'm are able to to build those relationships. Lbla I think right now my favorite teacher is my history teacher mr. block I'm really into history I'm kind of a history nut coach billing and Miss Ray because they helped me a lot because I'm like to know me I like to do Sports if I attempt to get into my head a lot so I feel like they helped me a lot to just kind of like that that go and get you to myself and be like you got this keep it going and they like they know me to my core I really appreciate because they don't let me like get back into my own thoughts hopefully like I see myself graduated with mechanical engineering and mechanical engineering and yeah like I just want to like basics for myself for my family too and to make all those around me proud After High School I hope to accomplish going to a 4-year University and if that isn't in my future maybe go to Community College and then transfer I want to be able to graduate with a degree in my choice of career paths and from there pursue what will make me happy as adults we cannot always imposed at what we think is right for them but rather listen from them and they will provide the answers at that we are looking for I've learned that at LVL a and opening myself up to 2 listening to what is it that stay want what is the thing really need and I've also learned that you can be in any space but if you're surrounded by a community of Educators that really love you and care for you Uke make your dreams come true it's like shoulder support that you get like cuz I know sometimes I got me coming like from Hispanic household I know a lot of the times I like they kind of like 10 the shoulder and be like you got this in the last like they say a telegram you got this keep going and like them just constantly being like you know I'm here for you is like another sense of comfort and you're like okay like I really do got this in like in case if I fall back on my parents are but my teachers are they too we are the foundation for Hispanic education we are the foundation for Hispanic education we are leaving Dad's in Leadership Academy
